Who we are
Beijing YSSnow Ice & Snow Technology Co., Ltd. is a snow machine manufacturer based in Beijing. We design and build snow machines and integrated ice-and-snow venue systems for clients in 30+ countries. Fifteen years in the business, eight or more countries served, and a track record across indoor ski slopes, snow parks, shopping mall atriums, film sets, and cold-therapy snow rooms.
If you need real snow indoors, or in a climate that does not cooperate, you are talking to the right factory.
The one-line version
Our snow machines make real snow — the kind you can ski on, build with, and photograph. Not ice chips, not shavings, not artificial frost. Actual snow, produced on demand, 365 days a year, in temperatures from -30°C to +35°C.
What "real snow" actually means here
We are precise about the wording, because buyers get confused.
A traditional snow gun sprays water mist into cold air and lets ambient temperature freeze the droplets into snow. That works below 0°C, but the output is wet, heavy and short-lived. A high-temperature snowmaking system takes a different route: it cools water to freezing point through a closed-loop heat exchanger, then ejects -5°C dry crystals. Aftesnow machiner a single pass with a groomer, those crystals pack into firm, skiable snow.
Our standard snow machine range (the Ys series below) produces the snowflakes directly — wet enough to accumulate but dry enough to last. The output is what a skier would call real snow, not shaved ice.
Either way, what hits the ground is real snow. Not the wet mist that traditional guns produce, and not the -5°C fragments that some competitors market as "snow" when they are really just ice shavings that will not bond.
Our snow machine range (three series, real specs)
We make three series of snow machines, covering 200KG to 6,400KG daily output. All models use Emerson compressors and R404A or the greener R454C refrigerant. Operating range is -30°C to +35°C.
Series 1 — Integrated (compact, plug-and-play)
Best for small and medium snow scenes: mall atriums, film sets, pop-up events, brand activations.

| Operating temperature | 40 to -30°C | 40 to -30°C | 40 to -30°C |
Why it matters: a 100KG machine produces 200KG of real snow a day, because the heat of fusion is recaptured in the refrigeration loop. Small, portable and easy on site power — the Ys2-01 is the default for mall pop-ups.
Series 2 — Split (separate indoor and outdoor units, remote IoT)
Best for large indoor ski slopes, snow parks and year-round commercial venues.
| Item | Ys10-01 | Ys10×2-02 | Ys10×3-03 |
|---|
| Input power | 220-230V / 50Hz | 380-400V / 50Hz | 380-400V / 50Hz |
| Daily output | 1,200 KG | 2,400 KG | 3,600 KG |
| Indoor unit (L×W×H) | 1200×600×500 | 1200×900×500 | 2000×1200×500 |
| Outdoor unit (L×W×H) | 1200×950×920 | 1600×950×920 | 2000×950×920 |
| Indoor / outdoor weight | 70 / 250 kg | 100 / 500 kg | 130 / 500 kg |
| Noise | below 55 dB | below 55 dB | below 55 dB |
| Control | PLC + remote IoT | PLC + remote IoT | PLC + remote IoT |
Why it matters: the split series ships with PLC and remote IoT, so the operator can monitor every unit, start and stop it remotely, and receive fault alerts on a phone. For a venue running dozens of units, that alone saves a full-time technician.
Series 3 — 1-to-2 multi-split (one outdoor unit drives two indoor units)
Best for large venues that need uniform multi-point coverage.
| Item | Specification |
|---|
| Input power | 380-400V / 50Hz |
| Refrigerant | R404A / R454C |
| Daily output | approx. 2.4 m³ |
| Total input | 7.5 kW |
| Outdoor unit (L×W×H) | 1600×950×1300 mm (expandable) |
| Indoor unit each (L×W×H) | 1200×600×500 mm |
| Control | PLC + remote IoT + group control |
Why it matters: in a long indoor slope, snow generated at one end melts before it reaches the other. Multi-point generation keeps the whole run at consistent depth. The value of 1-to-2 is not saving one outdoor unit; it is uniform coverage.
Where real snow pays off
Five scenarios where our snow machines are the right tool, and not just a marketing pitch.
Mall atrium pop-ups — Christmas, New Year, brand events, 1 to 4 weeks. A single Ys2-01 covers 20 m² at 200KG per day. Plug-and-play, no site preparation. The 220V input and 100KG weight mean a single technician can deploy it in a morning.
Indoor ski slopes — year-round, beginner to intermediate. Split machines plus high-temperature snowmaking for the long runs. A typical 1,000 m² beginner slope runs 8 to 12 split units on PLC group control.
Snow parks and snow towns — with play areas, family zones, tubing. The Ys10 series with PLC remote group control cuts operations labor by one full-time technician per venue.
Film and TV shoots — stable, controllable snow. Our snow machines have been used on Chinese feature productions where a stable, repeatable snow source is more valuable than waiting for weather. Containerized deployment matches the production schedule, not the season.
Cold-therapy snow rooms — recovery, hotel spas, gyms. A small high-temperature snow room producing -5°C dry crystals for a few minutes per session. Celebrities and athletes have made this a fast-growing segment, and we ship turnkey snow rooms for it.
Real snow versus traditional snow guns
| Dimension | Traditional snow gun | Our snow machine (Ys series) | High-temperature snowmaking (Snow Room) |
|---|
| Operating temperature | below 0°C | 40 to -30°C | 40 to -30°C |
| Output form | wet mist, freezes in air | real snow, accumulates directly | -5°C dry crystals, groomed into real snow |
| Additives | usually required | none | none |
| 365-day operation | no | yes | yes |
| Throw distance | 50 to 100 m | scene-scale, not long-throw | horizontal 200 m, vertical 50 m |
| Installation | fixed piping | plug-and-play container modules | plug-and-play container modules |
| Typical CAPEX | low | medium | high (refrigeration plus insulation) |
The short version: traditional guns make wet snow, our Ys machines make real snow, and the high-temperature system makes the dry crystals that become real snow after a single pass with a groomer. All three are real snow. None of them are ice chips.
Four things to check before you buy
First, look past the snowmaker price tag. The machine itself is usually only 30 percent of the total project cost. Refrigeration, insulation and dehumidification are the real budget lines. A poorly insulated 1,000 m² cold zone can burn 300,000 RMB a month on summer electricity.
Second, account for humidity if you are south of 40° latitude. Winter humidity in southern climates pushes the water content of snow 5 to 10 percent higher than in the north, which means it melts faster. Dehumidification to below 60 percent RH in the cold zone is not optional.
Third, check the power supply before the container arrives. A single high-temperature unit draws 30 to 150 kW. Older malls and factories often cannot deliver it. Get a power upgrade plan from the utility before signing.
Fourth, do not assume 365-day operation comes automatically. The machine can run 365 days, but without cold-zone maintenance, filter cleaning and refrigerant leak checks, output starts dropping after three months. A maintenance contract and one or two dedicated operators are the real prerequisite.
One line takeaway
We make snow machines that produce real snow — not ice chips, not wet mist, not shaved ice. From 200KG a day for a mall pop-up to 6,400KG a day for an indoor ski slope, the Ys series covers the range. Tell us your floor area, your target daily output and your operating days, and we will configure it one to one.
